Fun fact! Spirit of Durthu is the first mini I ever basecoated with an airbrush. It made … no discernible difference! Of course this was some time ago and I only did one color, so I’m a bit better with the airbrush these days.

I really love the Durthu model so I ignored advice to make a Treelord Ancient first, and went ahead with him. I am mostly happy with him, but ended up not doing as cool of an effect on his sword and mask as I wanted! To be honest by the time I painted him I was flagging a little on the project and just wanted to be done.
Sometimes, you just need to be finished! I did spent more time on the ‘driftwood to coral’ transitions with him than other minis, which you can see a little better from the back:
